Brought to life.

Kinolit is an independent, artist-owned publisher that creates "immersive" editions of books, starting with the classics. We combine the complete original text with up to 200 stunning full-page images throughout, turning familiar works into rich visual reading experiences. Our hardcover editions make for a unique, stunning gift for your favorite book-lovers, while our high-quality paperbacks are still affordably priced for everyday reading. Most books have Kindle editions available as well.

An immersive edition is the complete, unabridged book, brought to life with hundreds of premium, full-page illustrations. We describe the experience as somewhere between reading a book and watching a movie: instead of a picture every few chapters, the artwork follows the story from beginning to end, with each page carefully designed to make the reading experience as captivating as the story itself. Studies suggest illustrated reading can be nearly twice as enjoyable and keep people reading around 30% longer (National Literacy Trust, 2023; Mounguengui & Ilouga, 2019).

Most illustrated classics fall into two categories: affordable editions with a handful of inexpensive illustrations, or premium collector editions with a handful of beautiful illustrations, often at a much higher price. Either way, there are usually only a few images throughout the book. Kinolit is different. Our editions feature hundreds of original, full-page illustrations, with consistent characters, settings, and visual storytelling from beginning to end. Backing from investors who share our vision allows us to commission artwork on this scale while keeping our books affordable.

Yes. Every Kinolit edition contains the complete original text, without abridgement or simplification.

We do! Every illustration in a Kinolit book is a result of the work of experienced art directors, storyboarders, digital artists, graphic designers and other art specialists based in Europe and North America, primarily Canada, Germany, Ukraine and Spain. Each edition contains 30-200 full-page illustrations and represents hundreds, sometimes thousands, of hours of dedicated human work. Images are conceived, storyboarded, drafted and redrafted, then painted with attention to detail and continuity across the whole book. Depending on the title and art style, we may also use AI-assisted tools during rendering and refinement. You can read more about how we use them in our AI Policy.

Kinolit books are available on this website and on Amazon in the United States. For orders outside the U.S., please contact us through our Contact page.
